We believe that Jazz can be the catalyst for positive and permanent change in our community.

The nature of Jazz compels us to work in collaboration with our surroundings - to improvise when needs change and new opportunities arise. We are committed to using our assets to benefit individuals and groups in our community. Each year, we donate several hundred hours of rehearsal and event time for musicians and nonprofits. Jazz informs, influences, and inspires and we seek to do the same in our neighborhood. We leverage our assets to educate youth, foster musicianship and support local nonprofits.

NOJO stand in solidarity with those on the front lines fighting for justice and equality. The losses that black people have suffered and continue to suffer at the hands of those who pledge to protect and serve must stop.

In the spirit of healing, NOJO Will continue to use alchemic power of music to create transformative experience is that inspire social change.

The Jazz Market

Created by musicians for musicians and we are always looking to support the musician community. Realizing that affordable practice space in New Orleans is hard to come by, the Jazz Market offers free rehearsal space, which includes the use of a piano and drum kit.

Non-Profits

We understand the common constraints of operating a non-profit and we’re proud to offer the Jazz Market to alleviate expensive uninspiring offices and the challenge of raising money. We look forward to providing free or inexpensive meeting space for small groups in various parts of the Jazz Market. We also offer non-profit happy hours, which allows a group to invite their community to have a social mixer at the Bolden Bar. The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra is happy to donate 10% of bar proceeds back to the non-profit as unrestricted funds.
