New Orleans Non-Profits Feel the Love

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (October 16, 2009) – Heat up the holidays at Morton’s The Steakhouse in New Orleans with some cool jazz during the fourth annual Mingle, Jingle & Jazz, Friday, Dec. 18, from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Local jazz legend Irvin Mayfield will present a live holiday jazz concert during a special lunch at Morton’s to raise money for The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.

“We are honored to showcase Irvin’s talent at Morton’s again this holiday season. Irvin and The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra embody New Orleans’ personality and heritage,” said Vedran Komazec, general manager of Morton’s The Steakhouse in New Orleans. “Based on this events success the last three years, we look forward to a packed house and a truly memorable experience.”

Tickets for Mingle, Jingle & Jazz are $75 each, non-inclusive of food, beverage, tax and gratuity. The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will receive 100 percent of all ticket sales.

The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, was incorporated in December 2002 by founder and current artistic director, Irvin Mayfield, the Grammy nominated and Billboard Award winning trumpeter and composer, who is the officially appointed Cultural Ambassador for the City of New Orleans.

Morton’s The Steakhouse will offer its full menu to holiday lunch guests. Seating for Mingle, Jingle & Jazz is limited. Please call Morton’s New Orleans at (504) 566-0221 to make your reservation. Morton’s three private Boardrooms are also available for holiday functions and can accommodate parties of 10 – 100. Morton’s New Orleans will also be open for lunch Dec. 10 – 11, Dec. 17 and Dec. 21 – 22.

Famous for its unique tableside presentation, Morton’s friendly wait staff present a “show and tell” menu. Guests at Mingle, Jingle & Jazz can start with a choice of savory appetizers, including the jumbo lump crab cake, prime ocean platter or Morton’s center cut iceberg salad. The list of side dishes includes macaroni and cheese, hashbrown potato and sautéed fresh spinach and mushrooms. The selection of delicious entrees includes domestic rib lamb chops, fresh Maine Lobster and, of course, legendary portions of USDA prime aged beef.

Mingle, Jingle & Jazz would not be complete without a decadent dessert. In addition to the delicious soufflés for two, either chocolate, Grand Marnier, raspberry or lemon, Morton’s will offer authentic New York cheesecake, carrot cake and Morton’s legendary hot chocolate cake.

Morton’s The Steakhouse in New Orleans is located at 365 Canal Street. Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
